“Maryam Samir attended the faculty of economics and political science from 2013-2017, where she got her bachelor’s degree in Economics. She showed her enthusiasm towards civil society from the first day in college, that’s what motivated her to continue and build her professional career path in the social development field, with 2 years of professional experience and 6 years of volunteering.
She participated in many students’ activities like ENACTUS which concerned with entrepreneurship, society’s issues, and applying SDGs goals like empowering the poor specifically women. She facilitated workshops for youth about entrepreneurship and helped in building new teams. Currently, she worked as a protection school worker with Terre Des Hommes Egypt, which is concerning with children’s rights, child safeguarding policies, and creating a safe environment in their schools. She facilitated many sessions about child protection and soft skills for more than 600 children.
She always seeks to learn and widen her perception which triggers her to participate for tow months with HerStory Beijing+25 in 2019 because of her inner believe in women’s rights and role in society, also to be a trainee for three months with Soliya international online connect program for youth from the whole world to enhance the meaning of dialogue and discussing the most global issues, and to attend a Futures Literacy Lab-Novelty with UNESCO recently about rethinking the future of wellbeing. She has an inner desire not only for learning but also to make a tangible impact in her community.
